History

Bleecker Soho is our eighth location, and this one is very personal to our founder, Zan. Soho was where she first fell in love with London 20 years ago. It was vibrant, busy and excessively queer. Now, we’re on Old Compton Street, serving burgers in the heart of the city that shaped us.

Zan said, “Opening up on Old Compton St is a full circle moment – where my personal identity, beliefs and business all get to merge. I’m excited to serve our burgers to the amazing people of Soho.”

Go-to Bleecker order?
A single Cheeseburger, House fries and a Black & White shake – all of the classics.

Meet the operations manager
Rob Afriyie

Meet Rob, our Soho Operations Manager. Rob’s been in hospitality for over 20 years, with experience across pubs, casual dining, production and retail. He’s worked with big-name brands and now leads ops at several Bleecker locations – most recently, Soho.

He’s calm under pressure, sharp on systems and focused on building strong, consistent teams. Rob makes sure everything runs smoothly so the team can focus on what matters: great food and great service.

Go-to Bleecker order?
A Bacon Double (he says few things beat it), with a Cherry shake and Angry House fries.

Best of Soho
With Bleecker Brand Director, Liam O'Keefe

Best bar or pub in the Soho area?

Coach and Horses is an institution. Very similar to Bleecker. No frills, just nailing the fundamentals of what makes a pub great. During the day it reminds me of a proper locals pub back in Cork, Ireland.

Which restaurant are you desperate to try in the Soho area?

Crunch has been on my list since they opened near us in Spitalfields but I’ve not managed to get to them yet. I need to try their patty melt.

Best breakfast or brunch in the Soho area?

Bar Italia. Very close to being my favourite coffee in Soho, but there’s something very right about sitting outside here, having a coffee and a warm pastry and watching the world pass by.

Best coffee spot in the Soho area?

Columbia coffee, filter. This might be the best filter coffee in London.
